I’ve been making this raspberry lemonade all summer and totally loving it! It’s the perfect refreshing drink for a hot summer day. And completely guilt-free! I usually make a big batch for myself and drink it throughout the day. It’s also nice for when you have friends over because it’s so easy to make!
This delicious lemonade takes less than 5 minutes to make, has only 35 calories per serving, and is loaded with vitamin C! What more could you ask for?
I like my lemonade nice and tart, so this recipe is just the ratio of sweet and sour that I like. If you like a milder lemonade, just add a little more water and stevia. Feel free to adjust the ingredients to your own taste!
To make this raspberry lemonade low carb and keto-friendly, I just use liquid stevia to sweeten. I like SweetLeaf stevia and that’s the kind I use in this recipe.
Each brand of liquid stevia is a little different in terms of strength of sweetness. So if you use a different brand, just sweeten to taste. The recipe calls for 30 drops of stevia, but this is only going to be true for SweetLeaf and brands of similar strength. The 30 drops may be too much or too little if you use another brand. Of course, I recommend choosing a brand without any fillers. You would be surprised what some companies put in their stevia.
I’ve always thought it was interesting how different people taste stevia in different ways. Some taste a sweetness just like sugar, some taste a sweetness a little different than sugar, some get a bitter aftertaste, and some don’t think it tastes sweet at all. Apparently it’s all genetic. So interesting! The taste can also vary based on what brand you choose. That’s why I love SweetLeaf. Most people find the taste identical to regular cane sugar when used in moderation.
If you’re one of those in-between people (you like the taste of stevia but it’s also noticeable), try reducing the amount of stevia and adding some grade A maple syrup to the mix. This will make it that taste more like lemonade made with traditional cane sugar. No, it will no longer be keto, but it can still be low carb, depending on how much you add, of course. You could also try honey, but I find that the taste of pure maple syrup is better suited for this recipe.
