These delicious cookie dough bites take less than 5 minutes to make and just a few ingredients! And for those of us who regularly make paleo baked goods, you probably already have these ingredients in your pantry! Perfect for that sneaky after dinner sweet tooth. Did I mention that these are also paleo and vegan? Oh, and fairly low carb! Only 2 Tbsp maple syrup in the entire recipe.
And if you’re really in a sweet tooth emergency, you don’t even have to roll these into balls, you can just eat the dough! Not that I ever do that, of course 😉

How did yours turn out? I’d love to hear from you in the comments section!

Omg! I am so so soooo glad that I found this cookie dough recipe! I had a few difficulties finding the right ingredients where I live (Germany), but other than that, this recipe was super easy, quick, and fun to make, and I couldn’t be more in love with how it turned out! A HUGE plus, is that in this specific cookie dough, you can ACTUALLY name all of the ingredients in it, and it’s really healthy! (Unlike the store-bought one) This cookie dough won my own, and my family’s hearts, and I am certainly writing it down in order to remake it in the future!! I recommend this recipe with no doubt!!!! THANK YOU KIT! <3
Hi Fyre! Wow, thanks for the great review! So happy you and your family enjoyed the recipe so much 🙂
Can I use cassava or green banana flour? I saw in the previous comment that coconut flour wouldn’t work….
Hi Merle, I’m not sure if it would work because the texture might be a little off. If you try it you would probably need to use more coconut milk. If you try it I would love to hear how it turns out! 🙂
These look really tasty, but I can’t eat nuts. Is there a substitute for the almond flour I could use that would maintain a similar texture / flavor? I read in an earlier comment that coconut flour wouldn’t work as well, so I’m not sure what else I might use.
Hi Samuel! I’m not sure what a good substitute would be, but if I were to try something I think I would try sunflower flour or maybe oat flour. Although, with sunflower flour I think the color would be a lot darker!
Relllllly great alternative to the original cookie dough! I am strictly Paleo so this is PERFECT for someone like me who just needs a small snack when craving sweets!
Hi, Danielle! So glad you like the recipe!! Thanks so much for leaving a comment and letting me know! 🙂
Hi! Can you substatute the unsweetened vanillia almond milk for the coconut milk? If so, would it be the same measurement? Thanks!
Hi, Katie! Yes! It should be the same amount. If the dough is too sticky then just add a little more almond flour.
Do you think you could add some collagen powder to it for a protein boost?
Hi, Julia! You could try it! I think the taste of the collagen would be too overpowering for me, but if you don’t mind the taste then I’m sure it would be great! You could also try a vegan protein powder. I really like the PlantFusion cookies and cream protein powder and think that would be a good addition to the recipe. With the addition of any powders though you would need to add more coconut milk so that they are the right texture.
Hey! These are good! Do you think I can cook them?
Thank you! I wouldn’t try it because there are no leavening agents or eggs in the recipe. If you’re looking for a good paleo cookie recipe, check out my chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies ☺️
These were amazing! Thanks for sharing. The recipe made seven, which was the perfect amount for our after dinner sweet tooth. I put in the freezer for about 45 minutes before eating.
Hi, Victoria! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! Great idea to stick in the freezer. I’m going to try that next time I make them! 😍
Made these for my honey. Super quick. I rolled them in coconut sugar for an added sweetness for his sweet tooth. So fun and yummy!
Hi, Mimi! So glad you liked the recipe!! It’s one I make for myself all the time ☺️
Is blanched almond flour the same as almond meal?
Hello! Almond meal is usually made from almonds with the skins on. Almond flour is made from almonds that have had the skins removed (also known as blanched almond flour). The difference is really in the color. If it’s processed with skins on then you will see dark flecks in the mixture. This won’t change the taste at all, just the aesthetic. So, if you don’t mind the little dark flecks, then almond meal can also be used in this recipe! ☺️
Thank you for that awesome description! Excited to try your recipes.
Enjoy! ☺️
These are so easy to make! I love that I can eat something fairly “healthy” when I get that sweet craving. Thank you for sharing!
Hi, Kim! So glad you enjoyed the recipe!! I love this one too! You’re very welcome ☺️
Would you be able to use regular flour and regular milk if you don’t have those milk and flours?
Hi, Taylor! You can substitute with regular flour and milk, but the proportions will change. I would suggest just making a different recipe like this one: https://www.familyfreshmeals.com/2014/04/edible-cookie-dough-recipe-two.html 🙂
Hi! I made these last night and they are delicious!! I am trying to add them on my ketodiet app but I can’t figure out the carbs on each one? Can you help me?
Hi, Brooke! So glad you enjoyed the recipe! The number of carbs depends on what kind of chocolate chips you used. I usually use Enjoy Life chocolate chips. With that brand, the total calories comes to 1340 and the total carbs is 96g (58g from sugar and 20g from fiber). That’s for the entire recipe. So, if you ate 1 “serving” based on the recipe being 4 servings, as I wrote above, then that would be 335 cals per serving with 24g carbs (14.6 from sugar and 5 from fiber). I figured out all of these numbers using the MyFitnessPal recipe import function. It imports the recipe right from my blog and then you just edit the ingredients if needed. Please let me know if you have any more questions! ☺️
Hi! Can you substitute coconut flour? Thank you!
Hi, Marie! Unfortunately, I don’t think coconut flour would be a good substitution. Coconut flour and almond flour act differently in recipes and have completely different textures. Coconut flour also absorbs a lot of liquid. Are you allergic to almonds? Or all nuts? If you give me more information on what you can and cannot have, then I can try to help come up with a good substitution! ☺️
How many is in a serving? How many does this make? What sized balls? Thx
Hi, Karen! This recipe makes around 12-13 balls that are about 1″ in diameter. That would be about 4 per serving. I would say the serving size is relatively small. I hope you enjoy the recipe! ☺️
